Electric XR is a partnership between the virtual production team at BeElectric Studios, led by ICVFX Supervisor Justin Lee, and XR New York, a virtual production company founded by filmmakers. With production support from the commercial production house Schrom x Yacht Club, we’ve built one of the most skilled and experienced teams in the virtual production industry, where expertise makes all the difference.
Located in Brooklyn, our virtual production facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art LED volume, including an LED ceiling that enhances vehicle process shots and immersive ICVFX work. Designed for maximum flexibility, our space offers the latest technology and a skilled team to ensure a seamless production experience. Whether you’re working on film, TV, or commercial projects, we provide an ideal setting for dynamic, on-the-spot content production. Our stage also qualifies for the NY Film Production Tax Credit.
Located near Nyack, NY (and within the NYC 30 mile zone), our 31,000 sq. ft. facility offers two stages with drive-in access, a prep kitchen, set construction shop, full grip and electric package, and extensive prop room. Perfect for tabletop and food productions, we provide ample storage, refrigeration, rigging equipment, and BOLT and MILO motion control systems.
The facility includes client-friendly conference rooms, flex space for makeup/wardrobe, and parking. Our stages feature a mobile LED Wild Wall, a 50-foot curved LED volume, and qualify for the NYS Film Tax Credit Program.
Using advanced LED video wall technology and seamless in-camera visual effects, this workflow allows the seamless integration of city streets, mountain passes, and other diverse environments into a controlled studio setting. Say goodbye to the days of coordinating and permitting costly vehicle shoots.
Virtual production is the term often used to describe the new video production method utilizing a huge LED wall curving around a central space for props, physical sets, and live actors. This space is often referred to as “The Volume”. Fully three-dimensional scenes are rendered in real-time, with the addition of camera tracking and lens encoding technology to create a seamless illusion of shooting on a real-world location.
Our LED video displays are combined with a powerful media server that can control and output both video and photo images on multiple video displays in either high-definition or ultra-high definition. Our media servers also have the ability to input multiple video sources simultaneously that can be scaled and mapped to different layers. High-resolution video plates and motion graphics combine with DMX programmable lighting to create compelling visuals for any type of linear project or live event.
LED video walls surpass conventional green screens in various ways. This technology is revolutionizing virtual production, offering greater flexibility, enhanced visuals, and a more eco-friendly approach.
LED walls provide a more balanced mix of natural and artificial lighting, creating a realistic environment for actors.
Unlike green screens, LED walls offer a wide spectrum of colors and lighting conditions, allowing for greater creative control.
LED technology minimizes color spill, leading to cleaner images and reducing post-production work.
Adjust lighting, backgrounds, and other elements in real-time during filming, offering greater flexibility.
LED walls reduce post-production costs and the need for extensive lighting equipment.
LED walls are recyclable, consume less energy than green screens, and reduce the production’s carbon footprint and travel needs.
Actors can interact with digital characters, props, scenery, and special effects to perform more realistically.
The virtual environment can be quickly modified, allowing filmmakers to test different concepts without needing physical sets or location shoots.
